I am not sure if you are replying to me or to rumi. If it was to me I would like to ask you what part of my post says that I have a problem with non whites on the show?
I do not know the new characters' names yet. The twins are Latin Americans, therefore I refer to them as 'The Latin American Twins'.
So I say that I am having trouble caring about the story line that involves the Latin American twins. In fact I go so far as to say that I think it might have something to do with the pacing of the scenes. (In giving it a little more thought I think it could also be the lighting. I tend to not like overly dark scenes and movies. Batman Begins was ruined for me because of the lighting schemes.)
This really isn't any different then if I had said that I don't care for the little sub-story of Claire's (what kind of car is it?). That would not be me saying that I have something against that particular kind of car being on tv.
I have grown very tired of the attitude being fostered in America right now that if you don't agree with and push all things minority to the forefront then you are a racist.
If the twins had been made by TPTB to be Canadian trying to sneak across into northern Washington, and I had said that I have trouble having much interest in the story line of the Canadian twins I doubt wholeheartedly that this thread would have taken this turn.
If you were in fact responding to rumi, then I appologize and please disregard everything I said.
Oh, and to respond to rumi in the same post. I did not ask anywhere, 'why Latin American Twins'. It is obvious that TPTB are trying to tie characters in the story in to current hot topics in the news. Claire's biology teacher bringing up stem cell research in response to her question is another good example.
But their (TPT

choices are limited when it comes to sneaking into the US. Episodes of them in the cargo hold of a boat at sea aren't nearly as exciting as covertly crossing a border on foot. So that really limits them to coming through either Mexico or Canada. Story wise it just leaves them a lot more options to have them be Latin Americans sneaking in from the south.
That still doesn't mean that that particular arc interests me as much as what is going on with the characters from the first season. Which is what I said to begin with.
