Figure in 400 years, that's 20 average human generations. 2^20 is 1,048,576 descendents, and that is with each generation just having an average of two children. If you figure in the population explosion, Adam could easily have over 10,000,000 living descendents.
Do you think his name is a clue?

And 'Monroe' is the last name of a founding father...
It's possible, although according to the graphic novel, he is not aware of one possible descendant with similar abilities since he tries to kill him back in 1777.

A big part of historic prophylactics is that they just weren't available to most people. The world only produces so many sheep's mesenteries.
If the guy is still pitching a 400 year snit, he really needs to learn to get over it.

I think the consensus of most fans on the fan sites has been that they are very much canon, especially considering that all of the information about the primary plot to elect Nathan and its failure was covered in the novels and on the various Heroes 360 websites. All the various elements - the show, the novels, and the Heroes 360 stuff - have been designed to work together.

So far the on line graphic novels at the official Heroes website have been canon.

Yes, the sabotage of the first attempt to fix the election in New York occured in the novels and is the reason why Linderman had to grab Micah as Plan B.

Some of the show runners refer to the GN's in interviews for answers. I know that this has been done in a Behind the Eclipse Interview.
One instance is that one of the early GN revealed that Hiro is named after Hiroshima, and this has been referenced as fact. Also, the fact that Hiro is skilled at origami was revealed in this same graphic novel, which was expanded on in 'Six Months Ago'.
The only in-show correlations that I can think of right now: -In the graphic novel 'Road Kill', Sylar used his Cryokinesis. He used this power in both the final confrontation with Peter in 'Five Years Gone' and in the snowglobe scene in 'The Hard Part'. -In the graphic novel 'String Theory', Future Hiro is shown rationalizing his reasons for changing the past, including building the 3-D string model that was shown in 'Five Years Gone'. -In the graphic novel 'Betty', we saw Candice's 'true' form, which was briefly shown in 'Kindred'. -In the graphic novel 'Flying Blind', we get more on West's theory that the world was full of 'robots' and 'aliens'.
There may be others.

Oh...and probably one of the the most important, repeated questions from S1 was whether or not Sylar stole Eden's Persuasion. The Graphic Novel 'Fathers & Daughters' answered that question, and TPTB have stood behind that answer since.
