Niki told Micah that she can bring D.L. back to see him when he needs him (paraphrasing). When Jessica died, she became a part of Niki. So, jest speculatin' mind ya, if Jessica's ability was super strength, then Niki's power must be to absorb dying folk's spirits to become a part of her. So, if D.L. died (or was about to die), then his 'soul' (for lack of a better word) became part of Niki. In other words, D.L. will be brought back, but only as an adjunct to Niki's powers. Since she is aware of this ability (as evidenced by her comments to Micah), then how many souls can inhabit her body before she goes completely mad?

Er, no. You are over analyzing what she said. DL Hughley died from his serious wounds and is buried. The little Mic wants to visit his grave whenever he wants to.

More than likely he died from the Virus, since one of the online graphic novels said he was recovering from the shots.

It's a classic ambiguous sentence and probably does *not* mean the grave, because if it was supposed to mean the grave she wouldn't have been ambiguous about it.

My guess is that he was in hiding, but absorbing spirits is an interesting

Sure she would have. She's talking to a kid after all. Trying to soften it for him.

I think Jessica said to go and visit his grave any time he wanted to, of course..

There are plenty of things she could have said that would have softened it for a kid but not been ambiguous, like 'we could come here and see Dad any time you want.' Having characters speak ambiguously so that it can mean something else in hindsight after the surprise is revealed is one of the oldest tricks in serial fiction. You can spot it in advance simply by noticing that the characters are talking as if the writer's trying to hide
