Eating Adam or Claires brain maybe a bad idea?

The thought occurs to me that it might not be such a good move on Sylar's part to try to eat either Adam or Claire's brain to gain their regenerative ability. If Adam and Claire's ability to regenerate lies in their brain, there is really no particular reason why their brain should be killed, merely because it is chewed up, eaten, and exposed to Sylar's stomach acids. Their brain would be quite likely to start regenerating a new body for them while inside Sylar, using the most easily available materials, namely Sylar's body.

We know how Sylar gets the powers out of other people's bodies, we don't know how he gets them into his own. Maybe a quick whiff to both nostrils is all it takes.

When did you get the idea that Sylar ate people's brains?

I don't think he eats brains... Remember, he used to repair watches, and his ability seems to be an extension of that, the ability to open something up and see how they work. I don't think he ever ate his watches.

Peter could obviously differ in that aspect since his power absorption doesn't require him to alter himself.

The ability doesn't lie inside their brain; if it did, you wouldn't be able to heal someone by giving them Claire's blood, since you're not giving them her brain.

Then why does an object inserted into Claire's brain leave her 'dead' until it's removed?

The ability does lie inside their brain. If it didn't then Claire's regeneration wouldn't be stopped by impaling her brain stem.
