Haitians power
|
|
|
Aside from the memory stuff, does his blocking power work all the time or just when he turns it on?
I mean, can he prevent someone from using their power when he feels like it, or is it simply his presence that prevents other powers from being used around him?
I wonder if Sylar could kill the Haitian using conventional means, then once he's dead, cut open his head and 'read' his brains. He'd then be completely unstoppable, would he not?

TH can 'turn on' the power at will and direct it toward certain people.
In one episodes last year, Nathan was able to fly away to escape HRG & TH. In another, Peter managed to do the same thing.
Also, in this last episode, he suppressed *only* Peter's power; Elle was still able to use hers.

You're right. And I'm also reminded by the time when HRG needed some heat goggles to shoot at Peter and the invisible dude.
I wonder if TH is able to shoot out a general 'vibe' to turn off all powers. And how does his power work, does he have to think of the person and it happens, or does he need line-of-sight? What if someone comes up to him and he doesn't know they have powers, I wonder if he'd just use his power just in case?

Do you think that Peter would be able to take the Haitian's power?
If Peter's native power some sort of absorbtion that the haitian's power wcould stop that and so the Haitian would be able to block him.
If it's a 'monkey see. monkey do.' deal like Mikah's cousin the muscle mimic, then it would be possible for Peter to take the Haitian's power and block the Haitian from blocking him. I doubt that the PTB would do that though as every superhero needs his Kryptonite.

I think that either
1) TH wasn't using his suppression power until Peter started to wake up in the office after being bagged by Elle and Bob.
or
2) TH wasn't turned off his suppression power just after he handcuffed Peter to the side of the crate and just before he wiped Peter's memory.
or
3) TH turned off his suppression power after wiping Peter's memory and was unconscious.
In any case, Peter has TH's power.
Naturally.
Who blocks whom depends on who is quicker on the draw. I'd give the edge to TH, since it is his native ability.

We've seen the Haitian partnered up with mutants like Elle and Eden who can use the power in his presence even if he's actively blocking a third mutant's power so he can clearly turn his power on and off and direct it at anyone he pleases.
Yep.
Unless he's fighting Peter who should also have the Haitian's power.

I don't know. He didn't do too well against a silly guy with a sword.

He was distracted by other heroes around him that were trying to get him. If he had Haitian's powers, he would have neutralized all of them, then Hiro would have appeared with the sword and Sylar would just kick him in the face.
