Hello!

Here is a nice, large image of Kamui from the manga series X/1999. <http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Troy/1124/public/ CLAMP-X_squared_title. jpg> [Uhh, this link's too long! You can try this one if you don't want to piece together the above one: <http://members.xoom.com/Tea_tomb/tarot/pix/CLAMP- X.jpg>]

I got it from someone who knows little about X/1999, but thought that this image was taken from some cover. However, I cannot find this image on the covers of any of the (11) X-volumes I own.

Does anybody know this image? Where is it taken from? Manga book? Anime? Art book?

And since I got it online right now, can anybody tell me what the Hebrew words on this image mean, i.e as such and in the context of the 'X/1999' story?

Thanks for any hints,

Hi. That picture is really old and I believe, actually guess ^_^ that it may be from their 95 or 96 X calendar which has some wonderful pics that seem to exist only as old bad quality scans on the net ^_^ It may be around in shitajiki (pencilboard) form but once again that's just a guess^_^ I figure your only hope will be the new X Artbook that CLAMP are finally releasing this spring.

Before everyone gets all excited, I don't have the details such as price etc.. But all that will be known soon.

Hope that helps,

It's a tarot card. From the imagery, it appears to be 'Justice'. I have a few other pics like it I've found online. I can't tell you if it's art from an actual tarot *card* or not. I don't know if they really made a set, or if the art is just from an artbook series.

I believe the lettering at the top means 'Justice'. i.e. the title of the card. What the *others* little bits mean... <shrug>

'Course, I could be wrong... ^_^;

I understand your associations. This pic *does* resemble a Tarot card, but I understand it isn't one. The wings and the sword are features of Kamui without any connections to the Tarot image of Justice, and then there already exists an 'X/1999'-Tarot where Kamui poses as the 'Magician', and the place of 'Justice' is given to Karen Kasumi.

See <http://www.multimania.com/yuzuriha/tarots.htm> or <http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Studios/3142/xtarot/>

The Tarot cards shown in the above links aren't actual tarot cards, as far as I know. They are shown on each inside back flap of the covers of the books of the 'X' manga series. However, these cards *will* eventually add up to a set when the series will reach its 22nd volume and be completed.

Actually, the bit on the top is about the only one I can read. It reads 'YHWH', the name of God, the Lord.

I'm not convinced that this should really be a Tarot card.
