Not a lot to get excited about in this episode, understandable perhaps given that it's a fill-in-the-blanks of the last 4 months. The writing also had to contrive in doing that, for example Bob & The Keystone Cops Company putting Peter next to Adam and expecting Peter to voluntarily take his meds even after he discovers he's imprisoned. (Not to mention making wacko Elle his 'nurse' and having her miss the 'don't swallow the pills' oldest trick in the book.)

The inevitability that we were headed from A to B, no matter what the contortions, left little that was particularly interesting. But they pretty much had to keep this episode on hold because they wanted to keep Adam's identity a secret, and it helps that we have a bit of background now on why Peter may be helping Adam 'change history'.

The DL storyline seemed designed to simply give him a better sendoff, as a firefighter-hero before he dies of another bullet instead of the Linderman one. I think it's ironic, though, when you consider the ratings troubles the show has been having, that this DL story may have stumbled across what may have been (and could still be) a better storytelling strategy for the show's mini-arcs. DL the firefighter, like Matt the cop, and perhaps other Heroes, may best have lives and jobs in various parts of the world that fit well with their powers. It was nice to see DL get that, but then poof he's Dead Again. One would think a show titled Heroes would have wanted a character like that around.

I think they're saving that particular revelation for the episode where it's revealed that he's patient zero...

He was captured by someone and sent there and then Candice was tasked to nurse him back to health. They were in Mexico.

There's more to it than that, the loss of his powers for example.

and thus Ian Galbraith inscribed ...

Tom only asked about how he got to Mexico. Though if the time frame from last night's episode works in the flashbacks, the Haitian is still working for the Company, so maybe when Candice was nursing him, the Haitian also mindwiped him and his powers. Evidently we see from Peter that it can be broken.

He knew who he was, but he couldn't access his powers. More likely they were feeding him the suppressing drugs, but then his powers should be coming back any time now. Peter's came back after only 5 days.
