The fact that Peter couldn't fly away or anything because he was focused on no exploding, which Kring pretty much confirmed within a week of the episode airing, so I don't know what he's so hyped about, we already knew we were right.

There were a ton of posts that Kring & company did it merely so Nathan could save his brother.

You didn't, but many here apparently did as there were several people not understanding what had happened, and were complaining that it was stupid that Peter didn't just fly away.

I'm wondering if they threw that line in, just because of complaints from people that couldn't figure it out on their own (I'm assuming they did)...

LAst night's episode also showed that he exploded like Ted did, Blowed Out, but not Blown Up.

considering Kring apologized about the slow pace of season 2 to the fans I'm pretty sure they put the line in this week's episode for the 'fans'.
