It has been shown over and again that Niki's power is super-strength and that Jessica is a symptom of her MPD.
Right now, Niki's biggest fear is that she will be divided again, and Maury used that fear to induce her to his will.

It seems to me, and we are of course permitted to disagree, that as each hero learns about how their powers work, the initial manifestation is less than the true range of one's ability. What becomes regenerative powers for Clair is immortality for the newly christened 'Adam'. What started off as the ability to read minds for Parkman, now becomes the ability to control minds. So, who is to say that Niki's power is merely being very strong. Abilities have a strong genetic component, and it makes much sense that Jessica probably had her own abilities, but they never had the chance to manifest. If what I believe is true (and again, my belief/interpretation), then Niki's ability is to absorb the persona of a dying person... first Jessica, and probably D.L. The proof will be in the proverbial puddin' when D.L. shows up again without benefit of Maury and is seen by others (probably Micah). I can wait....

Again, neither D.L. nor Jessica is real. Jessica was a symptom of Niki's MPD. There has never been any evidence at all that Niki has any other ability than Super Strength.
Similarly, D.L. can't show up again because he was a nightmare specifically induced by Maury. A fact even more evident because Mohinder was present and didn't see D.L.

So, if they were not two different entities, explain the disappearing and reapearing tatoo.
Jessica appeared to Niki through mirrors, which presumably others could not see until she manifested through Niki. Like I said, takes time and I can wait.

People can exert extreme control over their bodies. She had the tattoo done while she was Jessica, so it only shows up when she is Jessica.

I didn't believe it either until I saw it with my own eyes. I have not, however, seen any of the other things you talk about, and I suspect the same sort of eye color change, which was very slight, happens in certain 'normal' people with mood changes. Multiple personalities do tend to 'split' along emotional lines, if I understand correctly (and I don't pretend to be any sort of expert).
*grin* Yeah, that does make it easier.
