Is the acting worse or the writing making them look bad?

I swear the scenes with Maya, Sylar and Alejandro were like something ripped from a bad telenovel as parodied on Ugly Betty. Just excrutiating to watch. Quinto was great last year but now he looks to be overacting so badly he's a parody of the earlier character.

For my money, Coleman is the only one turning in a good performance on a weekly basis. Question is are the actors that much worse this year or is the writing making them look that bad?

Both.

Quinto's plotline is awful. He's a great actor, he's just not being given decent lines.

However...The Wonder Twins, Micah and ESPECIALLY Muscle Memory girl are simply TERRIBLE actors. They all need to go. They really drag the show down, and it's beginning to wear on the viewers. Ali Larter could be lost too.

It's the writing. Consider: Mark Hamill sux, but Star Wars still roolz. Why? The writing.

Great writing can overcome bad acting. Great acting can't do much for bad writing. And Noah's character is the best written. He knows what he wants, and he does what he has to do to get it. People react (positively) to that.

No way! Zachary Quinto's mannerisms and expressions are amongst the only good things this season. That and Noah Bennett being 'killed.'

Coleman is always good. Quinto as well. Everybody else is kind of expendable at this point. Even the character of Hiro was annoying as Hell.

This season has just not been that great because of retarded storylines.

Actually, I'm kind of partial to Grunberg as well... he's much more interesting this time around as he seemed mostly useless last season.

I hate him this year. All he needs is a Snidely Whiplash mustache to twirl. I think that would just about complete the mannerisms.

I don't think Quinto was ever that good, the character is tiresome and a large part of that is his performance as well as the writing. David Anders completely shows him up.

The writing has been iffy especially in these transitional episodes.
