Ranma Book 36 question

There're a couple 'issues' in the Japanese Ranma 1/2 Book 36, in which Ranma's mother gives him what looks like a ring to give to Akane. Things go nuts (as usual) as Ranma thinks of ways to give it to Akane innoculously and other people try to get it. My Japanese is ridiculously bad, but I have no idea what the ring turns out to be at the end of the section. Pills? Gelcaps? What the?

My Japanese is non-existent, but my guess is that what was hidden under the ring was some form of contraception.
