This is a question about S02E01, with some speculation - do not read if you do not wish to be spoiled. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I'm thinking the murderer is Nathan. Pushed over the edge of sanity by the apparent death of his brother at his own hands.
What think?

I think your right, he blames his mother for Peter's 'death' so why not her accomplices.

I think that it is a good theory and one that could be made to work quite easily, but I don't think that is how they have the season set up. The mixed Konji that means 'godsend' is what makes me believe that it is not Nathan. Nathan wouldn't know that that is how you send a message to one of the final 9 of 12 that they will be dead in 24 hours. Nor would a drunk wreck of a man, such as they portrayed him, go to the trouble of sending cute little messages etc. He would just kill in a blind fury, IMHO.
Hiro's father also said something about 'of all of them I never expected it to be you'. I would think that that line would have been a bit different if it had been someone outside the final 9. (7 if you don't count the two marked for death.)
Of course I could be completely wrong. The photo showing up outside Peter's apartment door right after Nathan shows up, and the killer disappearing over the ledge without hitting the pavement (flying away) are both good indications that it could be Nathan. I believe they are more likely red herrings though.

Did you see the scene where Nathon bumped into Hiro on the same side as he was holding the newspaper?

, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , The picture was one of his mother with the guy. He followed Ando, which led him to the father. The guy is no moron. He's had 4 months to figure it out. He knew the son, he knew of Ando. I think he could easily have found the connection.

Nathan would have been known by any of them. Remember, his name and face were plastered all over the city for the election. Also, the drunken slob stuff could be an act.
That said, I think we're probably being set up to suspect him, and that he is probably not the murderer.

I never considered that he is the murderer. I did, however, consider that he was the one who dropped the picture into the newspaper when he bumped into Ando.
However, the show is all about destiny and the constant collision between these powered individuals. They - and those in their lives - are constantly bumping into each other in all kinds of ways.
I'm not quite ready to make the decision this early.

I'm not making a decision at all. I'm speculating. I find it fun to speculate and find out if I'm right or wrong.

The speculation is the fun part for me. It may be too obvious a setup, with him bumping into Ando like that. But it seemed a logical hypothesis based on what was going on there.

Not by a long shot. On the 9th Wonders forum, this was brought up as almost one of the first threads on the episode, with pretty much the same conclusion, it's a red herring.
