anyone hear that the season has been cut in half due to the writers strike. was wondering if anyone knew if the strike is still on? and any more news on it.

For them what's been paying attention, it was announced just after the end of the last season that season 2 would have two story arcs, not one. What's been advertised is the end of the current story arc, not the end of the season.
What's been put on hold indefinitely is the six part 'Heroes: Origins' episodes that were to be the mid-season replacement.

Seems unlikely, at this point, unless the strike is a lot shorter than is expected. But no announcements have been made, are none are likely for several weeks.

And for them what's been paying even better attention, it was announced in the past week or so, that Episode 11 has an alternate ending that will allow it to serve as a season finale if need be, due to the strike.
