Something missing...
I guess I'm one of those cynics who feel that this season lacks that 'something special' that last season had. Last year I just could not bear to wait for each following episode. 'Heroes' was nearly all I talked about. This year I find myself watching Monday Night Football (even Steelers- Ravens) and TiVoing the show.
I can't quite put my finger on what's so different. It could be the big disconnect between some of the main characters- Hiro in 1670 (?) Japan, Peter in Ireland. It could be the absence of that chilling menace that Sylar presented, like a Grim Reaper hovering over the heads of all the heroes or the ubiquitous Linderman, pulling sinister strings in the background like Don Vito Corleone. It could be the introduction of characters who really are not very interesting or engaging, like the Mexican twins or the girl in New Orleans or the ridiculous flying boy who takes flight in public places yet no one sees him.
Perhaps it'll pick up. Next week appears to offer potential.
Still, the 49ers will be playing the Seahawks...
I'll see.

I'm with TV critic Alan Sepinwall on this, in reality S2 isn't that different from S1. Its just that the newness of the series and the expectations carried the audience through. S2 doesn't have that and its been made worse in the last 2 episodes where its beginning to look like S2 is a retread of S1.
