Unfortunately there's a bunch but I have faith the show will get back on track.
1) Too many new heroes. There were already too many last season, which meant certain storylines weren't fully explored. Now it's like every other person on the street has powers. And I'm not a fan of the overlapping powers (flying, mind reading). I liked that last season's were all unique, even if they served little purpose (like the smelting).
2) The lack of familiarity the old heroes have with each other. They seem to know what powers the others have but don't know much else about each other. You'd think after the Sylar encounter/ Peter saving the world, maybe they would have gone out for coffee or something. Instead it appears as if they all just went their separate ways without any words to each other.
3) Hiro in the past. Hiro was one of my favorites last season but now I dread his (seemingly) pointless scenes the most. Just bring him and his new buddy back to the present already.
4) Ditto Peter. His character has gone nowhere this whole season. Oh wait, he now knows his full name. Time to get a move on.
5) The fact that the kid is the only one who seems to recognize these powers run in the family. Isn't there even one mother out there who thought, 'Hmm... I wonder if I passed this on to my child?' With all the research Suresh and The Company have done, you'd think they'd do a bit more investigating into the relatives.
6) Last season had a clear purpose: save the world. I'm not clear on the purpose of this season- is it to bring down The Company?

I've never understood this complaint. The cast has always been large and spread out, and we've lost last season as many as we gained this season, and we're going to lose other heroes as the story progresses. In general, people have a perception of the cast being large because of all the publicity surrounding the casting. I think it would have been better had casting been (mostly) kept hidden until closer to the appearance of the character.
Also, there have only been 2 repeated powers, and they could be manifested differently.
Again, I'm not sure this is a valid criticism. It's rather easy to see that they didn't have much interaction because they all had different concerns after Kirby Plaza: -Matt was hurt (technically gunshot), and was unconscious. He was in no condition to meet anyone. After he recovered enough, he probably just wanted to get home to his wife. We know he had other things (his wife's betrayal and divorce) on his mind after that. -DL was hurt, and Niki and Micah were more interested in getting him to a hospital than going out for coffee with the gang. -HRG was interested in keeping Claire safe. More than likely, he high-tailed it out of New York, dragging her with him as far away from Angela as fast as he possibly could. -Mohinder was concerned with getting Molly to safety.
It's obvious that HRG and Mohinder has some interaction after Kirby Plaza, but Matt seems to be out of that particular loop.
Claire and Nathan have had some interaction, as well.
Some of this should be answered soon.
I think the story-time structure of that story is somewhat interesting, but I agree that the arc is rather bland, and remains too disconnected from the rest of the volume. Of course, most of Hiro's story last year was done in the same manner. Hiro-as-comedic-relief is rather old as well. I'd rather see more of future Hiro.
Peter has been boring for a very long time: angst, whine, angst, whine, explode.
I'm sure they have thought about it. Meredith Gordon seemed to recognize it when she met Claire.
We really don't know much about what type of research The Company has done. Chandra Suresh, at least, was going through the Human Genome Project, and was barely beginning his research. Chandra didn't really leave that much behind, and Mohinder has spent more time trying to figure out the clues than actually doing much research.
I suspect, though, that The Company is keeping an eye on various families, and intervening as necessary.
I think that's my biggest complaint: there's no clear direction this season. To be fair, though, the Season 1 didn't find a clear direction until the end of Hiros (episode 5).
We're now at episode 5 of season 2, but the direction still hasn't

Gotta remember that this season will be volume 2 & 3.
Vol 2: Generations. Who was the previous generation, who's trying to kill them an why. Kensai has to play in to this, thus we're seeing Hiro in feudal Japan to perhaps explain why things are happening. Peter in Ireland, not sure the point for Generations, but maybe it's setting up vol 3. He may not actually have a purpose in Vol 2, but they wanted to get his back story played out.
Vol 3: Not sure what that'll deal with, but at that point, we'll have lost, most likely, all the old generation, or most of the rest of them, and probably a few of the new generation.

I've tried to be diplomatic, and give things a chance to gel and get moving...but this season of Heroes is absolutely AWFUL. I TOTALLY agree with all your points...It is STALE, PREDICTABLE while simultaneously haphazard and uncoordinated.
The Peter and Hiro storylines are just a terrible direction. Who ever approved those storylines...along with the whole...quest to bring down the parents thing...should be fired. It's a real shame, but this show is just sinking lower and lower and lower. Peter and Hiro need to return to the presnet day US immediately.
Heroes took on a huge global fan-base from season 1. OBVIOUSLY that is reflected in the Heroes travelling the world crap that we're seeing so far. It's just so lame...
That and the 'hook ups'. It's very disappointing.

Yes, the cast has always been large- too large I think. And the one major character loss from last season (the painter) was replaced with two new ones this season (the Hispanic girl and the black girl). Heroes has 13 *major* characters and most of them are still spread out. They need to bring a few more of them together in order for the show to have a better focus.
I mentioned two, but Parkman's father's ability seems to overlap with Candace's (except she created fantasies whereas he creates nightmares).
I was kind of joking about them going to coffee immediately afterward but I still would have figured everybody except perhaps HRG to find each other in the four months that have passed and asked a few questions. I expected there would be more of them working together this season the way Parkman/Suresh, Suresh/HRG, Parkman/Nathan are.
Hiro was a pivotal character last season. He was the thread that pulled several characters together and gave them their purpose. Now he's completely irrelevant.
I agree with that. I know they want him to rediscover his abilities but I think he would be far more interesting if he'd become a stronger character as a result of his encounter with Sylas.

Eden was a major player, and killed herself. Simone was a major player, and Isaac killed her. Ted was a fairly major player, and Sylar killed him. D.L. was a fairly major player, and mysteriously died.
Overlapping's not a really big deal.
I agree, in a way.
So far.
Nothing remains irrelevant for long.
I just as soon he completely forget about Peter.

Such as the sword smith turns out to be Hiros father so naturally he can't make out with his sister - and Kensei turns out to be Sylar in

It doesn't bother me except insofar as they tend to have too many ongoing extraneous subplots each episode.
Agree with this, there should be more of a connection between them this season.
Hiro and Peter have both suffered from cliched, drawn out subplots already this season. They both needed to get to the point more quickly, which happened with Peter in the latest episode.
I think they realise it given Linderman specifically manipulated Niki and DL into begetting Micah.
Stop the murderer, find out more about the company. They're expanding the mythology at the moment.

Even more specific than that.
Step One: Save the cheerleader, save the world. Step Two: How do you stop an exploding man?
You're right about purpose, which probably relates to stopping the ff.
But they need a specific hook. And I don't see Wonder Twins as part of the equation.

You do like the wild theories, don't you?
I think it's just a chance for Hiro to grow beyond his 'comic relief' role and become more like the future Hiro. After all, he's not going to do it the way future Hiro did.
