The New Mixx Issue

I realize people are probably semi-queasy on talking about Mixx Zine, but has anyone any opinions about the new issue? About the treatment of Sorcerer Hunters? I've seen the issue, and I can't say I really appreciate the new translation of SH or the placement of such a risque title in the anthology. I'm not saying I don't like it, but I question if it should really be in it.

Guess there's a pretty good chance Sailor Moon won't be returning to it while SH is there...

'Sorcerer Hunters' is a good name for Bakuretsu Hunters. Not many (rarely any) Americans would know what the heck 'bakuretsu' means. Anyways, 'bakuretsu' translates to exploding/ explosion from Japanese. Renaming the series' Exploding Hunters' is just plain stupid. 'Sorcerer Hunters' is a suitable alternative to 'Bakuretsu Hunters' since the main characters hunt down sorcerers. Hence the name 'Sorcerer Hunters'.

I don't exactly know what you guys are talking about, but the name 'Sorcerer Hunters' appears in the OP theme of the TV series. So, that's how anime fans ended up calling it that.

Probably they want to create a connection to the 'Sorcerer Hunters' videotapes that are being released by A.D. Vision. Many readers might not make the connection on their own.

'Sorcerer Hunters' is also the name of ADV Films' release of the series, so I guess it's the official English title now.

Speaking as a retailer, SH seems to have less to offend than Parasyte does, and that ran with Sailor Moon for a whole year. Go to rec.arts.comics.misc and look for 'Werthamite attack' or somesuch. Mixx's poor mix of content was used as an example in a media attack on comics last week.
