Cool!
Not likely for the many, many people whose creative and artistic sensibilities are dampened and suppressed by media overall and TV in particular. An increase in interest in reading would be a welcome consolation, but with so much TV and so many movies to watch and re-watch, that's rather an unlikely consequence.
I'm disappointed that Kring is off the show. Presumedly, that means, off for the duration of the strike. So many sci-fi shows started out really great and turned very bad when financial imperatives overwhelmed artistic concerns. Hopefully, the strike won't last long enough to utterly ruin Heroes. I read a lot of the comments posted to the letter linked to in the above,

It seems to me very likely this will be a protracted strike. There are intimations of perceived injury and insult and vengeance compounding the great battle for money and the great desperation of the people who are going to suffer financially, great and small alike.
You'd think this desperation should make everyone try to reconcile and promote some good will.
